According to Variety, the season finale drew a series-high 6.6 million viewers last night. The Sam Levinson-created series is presently averaging 16 million viewers each episode in Season 2, making it the network’s second-most viewed show since 2004, after only Game of Thrones. That’s not all, though. According to Twitter, Euphoria has become the most-tweeted show of the decade in the United States, according to Deadline.
It’s the latest in a lengthy list of achievements during Euphoria’s second season.
In the weeks after its initial show date on January 9, the season debut drew 13.1 million viewers across HBO and HBO Max. Season 2’s viewership was approximately 100 percent higher than the first season by the fourth episode.
Euphoria has been renewed for a third season, according to HBO. However, as Zendaya, the show’s actress and executive producer, celebrated the Season 2 finale on Sunday night, she admitted on Instagram that the show will be gone “for a while.” The Idol, Levinson’s most recent project, which he co-created with Reza Fahim and The Weeknd, is now in development.
Zendaya is expected to start filming Dune: Part Two in July. Despite the fact that she only featured for seven minutes in the first film, her character is expected to have a larger part in the sequel.
