According to reports, Zendaya has significantly renegotiated the terms of her Euphoria contract and will now reportedly make roughly $1 million each episode for the show’s upcoming season.

The 26-year-old actor, who has received two Emmy nominations for her portrayal of Rue Bennett, “just closed a big re-negotiation” with HBO, according to Puck News. She will reportedly get close to a million dollars every episode, ranking among Hollywood’s highest-paid TV actors.

For the part back in 2020, Zendaya created Emmy history. She created history by becoming the youngest actor to win Best Lead Actress in a Drama after taking home the prize, and she made even more history by becoming the only Black woman to win the prize twice in 2022. As a producer on Euphoria, Zendaya was also nominated for Outstanding Drama Series. Had she won, she would have become the youngest executive producer to receive the honor, but Succession ultimately prevailed.

“My greatest wish for Euphoria was that it could help heal people,” Zendaya said during her acceptance speech in 2022. “I just want to say thank you to everyone who has shared their story with me. I want you to know that anyone who has loved a Rue or feels like they are a Rue, I want you to know I’m so grateful for your stories, and I carry them with me, and I carry them with her.”

Zendaya stood by Euphoria and admitted that the younger generation is far more hopeful than what is depicted in the show in her fictitious acceptance speech for 2020.
