Woman attempts to glue herself to court in protest during Clippers vs. Timberwolves play-in game

During the Minnesota Timberwolves’ play-in game at Target Center on Tuesday night, a woman had to be taken from the court after attempting to glue herself to the baseline beneath a basket.

The event occurred in the second quarter, as the Timberwolves battled back after a slow start. To secure the No. 7 seed in the Western Conference Playoffs, the Timberwolves must defeat the Clippers; else, they will face either the Spurs or the Pelicans on Friday night, with their season on the line.

A female protester went on the floor and bonded her hand to the court with 3:34 left in the first half. The woman, identified as Alicia Santurio in a news statement, was wearing a blouse that read, “Glen Taylor roasts animals alive.” She was protesting the horrific slaughter of chickens at Taylor’s Rembrandt Enterprises factory egg farm in Iowa.

At least two police officers promptly removed the woman off the floor. For a few minutes, the game had to be halted as Target Center staff attempted to clean up the mess.
