Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey Horror Movie Trailer is Released

A nearly two-minute preview of how filthy Pooh and his friends are going to be in this definitely cute-free retelling can be seen in the new Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey trailer, which was released on Wednesday.

To be clear, the 1926 version of A.A. Milne’s original stories—which, like the stylized version of the horror movie’s title, is hyphenated, à la Winnie-the-Pooh—was carefully chosen for copyright concerns, as director Rhys Frake-Waterfield explained in a Variety interview earlier this year.

In January, Winnie-the-Pooh—the collection of Milne’s short stories, not the Disney adaptations—became a part of the public domain.

Watch the trailer down below. The movie, which stars Maria Taylor, May Kelly, Amber Doig-Thorne, Natasha Tosini, and others, is anticipated to be released later this year. The production company behind this bloody Winnie the Pooh story, Jagged Edge Productions, has a history of similarly heinous works like The Curse of Humpty Dumpty, Croc!, The Legend of Jack and Jill, Curse of Jack Frost, and others.
