While discussing Manchester United’s transfer plans, new Chelsea owner Todd Boehly meets with Cristiano Ronaldo’s agent

Todd Boehly, the new majority owner of Chelsea, is eager to get to work and is planning a spectacular summer signing to mark the start of his reign.

Following Roman Abramovich’s sale of the team in May, American investor Boehly finalized a majority acquisition of Chelsea.

Additionally, Chelsea is moving quickly to forge their new destiny under the American, as a new board of directors is being put together.

Chelsea are looking for a new attacker for head coach Thomas Tuchel as Romelu Lukaku is about to finish off a loan back to Inter.

Boehly met with Portuguese super agency Jorge Mendes this week to explore a potential deal for Cristiano Ronaldo after being connected with Raheem Sterling in recent weeks, according to The Athletic.

Despite scoring 24 goals across all competitions since his return to Manchester United last summer, Ronaldo was unable to transform the 2020–21 Premier League runners up into champions as they finished sixth overall and without a title.

According to the article, United want to keep Ronaldo around for Erik ten Hag’s first campaign as manager, but it’s not obvious whether Boehly would develop informal talks into a formal offer for the five-time Ballon d’Or winner, who still has feelings for United but still has his doubts.
