Premier League side Watford have received shirt sleeve sponsorship for the new season thanks to Dogecoin.
The cryptocurrency’s landmark Shiba Inu dog appears on the club’s shirt sleeves in a partnership worth around £700,000 with a break from the team’s previous collaboration with Bitcoin.
The partnership is in fruition with Stake.com, a crypto casino and sports betting platform, which has penned a long-term deal with the Hornets with the sum paid in cryptocurrency.
Stake.com will also be launching initiatives including the giveaway of 10 million Dogecoins on their platform to mark the partnership.
“We could not be more thrilled to partner with a club that has such immense history yet still a true innovative spirit,” said Stake.co.uk CEO Mladen Vuckovic on the new partnership with Watford FC,” as quoted by Hypebeast.
“We’re committed to becoming a key part of the Watford family and have a number of exciting initiatives planned for fans over the coming months!”
