Jeen-yuhs, the three-part documentary series on the artist formerly known as Kanye West, has gotten a new trailer ahead of the theatrical release of its first act.
Clarence “Coodie” Simmons and Chike Ozah, the filmmaking partnership behind the Creative Control and TIME Studios-backed trilogy, are two names that should strike a bell for lifelong Ye fans. TIME Studios president Ian Orefice described the documentary as “inspiring” to him during a private screening in New York last month.
“They were able to capture, not just the footage, but with the empathy of Coodie’s camera, the most special story that I’ve ever seen. … This film is inspiring,” Orefice said.
Following public statements from Ye that were published during coverage of Act 1’s Sundance Film Festival debut, the documentary has gotten even more attention in recent weeks.
