On Monday morning, a 65-year-old man robbed a bank for just $1.

Donald Santacroce reportedly entered a Wells Fargo in Salt Lake City, Utah. He approached the bank teller and handed her a note that stated, “Please pardon me for doing this but this is a robbery. Please give me $1.00. Thank you,” according to Fox News.

After giving him the money, staff members requested him to leave, but he opted to stay and wait for police in the lobby. According to the arrest document, he also allegedly said that the people in the bank were “lucky [he] didn’t have a gun” and complained about how long the police were taking to arrive. The manager and staff of the bank ran to safety in the rear room after hearing that remark.

When police arrived, he turned over the cash, confessed to robbing the bank, and stated that since he had committed a federal felony, he wanted to go to federal jail. He was taken into custody and later accused with felony robbery.

Why he wanted to be sent to a federal jail is unknown. He did, however, admit to authorities that if he was let out of prison, he would carry on robbing banks up until he was detained in a federal facility.

Following the heist, there were no injuries recorded. Santacroce is no longer being held in jail. The robbery comes after another arrest he was made last week for a DUI and irresponsible driving by the Utah Highway Patrol, according to NBC News. He was found to be operating a vehicle on a suspended Missouri license at the time.
