Uma Thurman Reveals New Details About ‘Kill Bill Vol. 3’

Fans of “Kill Bill” will be disappointed. Despite Quentin Tarantino’s efforts to generate interest for “Kill Bill Vol. 3” in recent interviews, franchise star Uma Thurman acknowledged on SiriusXM’s “The Jess Cagle Show” that a third installment is “not immediately on the horizon.” Thurman played Beatrix “The Bride” Kiddo in Quentin Tarantino’s martial arts vengeance epic, which was shot as a single picture but released in two parts. Fans have been clamoring for “Vol. 3” for a long time, and Tarantino has stated that it is a possibility.

“I can’t really tell you anything about it,” Thurman said. “I mean it has been discussed over the years. There was real thought about it happening, but very long ago. I don’t see it as immediately on the horizon.”

Thurman added, “I hate to disappoint people. Everybody wishes it would be the case, but I think it’s not immediately on the horizon.”

In July 2019, Tarantino said on the “Happy Sad Confused” podcast that he and Thurman were still talking about doing a third “Kill Bill” film. In a December 2019 interview with Andy Cohen, the filmmaker stated that “Kill Bill Vol. 3” was “definitely still in the cards,” but that it would be “three years” or more away.

The filmmaker has previously stated that a prospective “Kill Bill Vol. 3” would center on Vernita Green, the daughter of Vivica A. Fox’s character, as she seeks vengeance for her mother’s murder by killing Uma Thurman’s The Bride. The Bride’s daughter would be included in the storyline. In June 2021, Tarantino stated on “The Joe Rogan Experience” that he would cast Thurman’s own daughter, Maya Hawke, in the role.
