UEFA three-man men’s Player of the Year shortlist revealed

Chelsea midfielders Jorginho and N’Golo Kante, and Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne are the three names included in UEFA’s Player of the Year shortlist.

It marks the first time in the award’s 11-year history that all three nominees are midfielders. Jorginho and Kante won the Champions League with the former winning the Euros with Italy. The Chelsea duo defeated De Bruyne and Manchester City 1-0 in the Champions League final in Porto back in May.

Thomas Tuchel, who managed the Blues to Champions League glory, has been named in UEFA’s Manager of the Year shortlist. Guardiola, who guided Manchester City to the Premier League title, and Roberto Mancini, who led Italy all the way at Euro 2020 have also been nominated.

As reported by the BBC, the winners will be announced on Thursday, 26th August in the Champions League group stage draw ceremony.
