The much-anticipated sequel to Michael Jordan’s blockbuster is arriving as the new trailer for Space Jam: A New Legacy was released on Saturday.
The film starring LeBron James and directed by Malcolm D. Lee sees the Los Angeles Lakers star play a fictional version of himself.
With high expectation surrounding the movie, Lee believes that New Legacy is better than the franchise’s predecessor.
“LeBron’s got that going for him,” Lee told Entertainment Weekly in March as quoted via Complex, also noting that fans can expect “a lot of the [Warner Bros.] characters” to be on show for this upcoming game sequence.
The Legacy cast also includes Khris Davis, Sonequa Martin-Green, Ceyair Wright, Harper Leigh Alexander, and more. Bugs Bunny is voiced by Eric Bauza, with other revered Looney Tunes characters—Sylvester, Daffy Duck, and Lola Bunny among them—also set to appear.
Fans can also expect cameos from NBA and WNBA players including Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, Diana Taurasi, Chiney Ogwumike, and more.
Space Jam: A New Legacy will be coming to theatres on July 16.
