Tottenham ‘in talks’ over £20m Antonio Conte agreement

Antonio Conte is reportedly being offered a new contract by Tottenham worth more than £20 million annually.

The Italian manager’s current 18-month contract is set to expire at the conclusion of this season, therefore the club is attempting to lock him down.

Tottenham and Conte are negotiating a contract extension for more than £20 million, or almost £400,000 per week, which would make him the highest-paid manager in the Premier League.

The leadership of North Londoners is growing more optimistic about reaching a deal with the 53-year-old.

As conversations continue, Spurs would prefer to have something officialized before the January transfer window.

The team appears unconcerned by the criticism that Conte’s counterattacking strategy has received from some quarters, especially when he replaced two attacking studs with defensive players after 10-man Spurs fell behind Arsenal 3-1 last weekend.

Since taking over for Nuno Espirito Santo in November 2020, Conte has changed Tottenham.

After a valiant effort defeated Arsenal, he guided the squad to a fourth-place finish the previous year and into the Champions League this year.

Conte’s team has 17 points after eight games, four points behind leaders Arsenal. They have earned four points from their three Champions League games after winning, drawing, and losing to Sporting Lisbon on the road.
