Toni Kroos storms out of interview in anger after winning Champions League final

Toni Kroos’ joy was dimmed by an interview with German television as Real Madrid celebrated yet another Champions League success.

With Vinicius Jr’s second-half winner, the Germany international helped Carlo Ancelotti’s club upset Liverpool in Paris.

Liverpool had 24 shots to Real Madrid’s four, but were unable to break down a well-organized defense headed by man of the match Thibaut Courtois.

2DF questioned Kroos after the game if everything went according to plan and if he was surprised they were put under so much pressure by Jurgen Klopp’s squad.

And Kroos, angry by what he saw to be “negative” questions from his country, stormed out of the interview after losing patience with the reporter.

“You had 90 minutes and you come up with two s*** questions,” he complained before walking away. “Two negative questions, you can tell right away that you’re German.”

Kroos was not the only Real Madrid player who appeared tense in his post-game interview. After his spectacular performance, goalkeeper Courtois spoke to BT Sport and urged supporters in England to give him “respect.”

“I saw a lot of tweets saying I would get humbled,” Courtois declared.

“It was the other way round. Today I needed to win a final – for my career, for all the hard work, to put respect on my name because I don’t think I have enough respect, especially England. I saw a lot of criticism that I was not good enough or whatever.”
