Tom Cruise came at the premiere of Top Gun: Maverick in the only way he knows how: flying a helicopter. The actor made a stunning arrival aboard the USS Midway, a renowned Navy aircraft carrier moored in San Diego, as shown in a video published on social media by The Hollywood Reporter. He then walked out to the international premiere of the long-awaited Top Gun sequel.
While it was first assumed that Tom Cruise was piloting the chopper, the star subsequently stated that he was not on board this time. “No, not today. I do fly that helicopter, but not today,” During an interview with ET, Cruise allegedly stated with a giggle. Cruise, who is a qualified pilot with hours of flying expertise and multiple large, life-threatening leaps, could have piloted the helicopter himself.
During the production of the next action sequel Mission Impossible 7, which has now been renamed Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, the actor has been observed flying and landing helicopters (successfully, of course). As a result, many people expected Tom Cruise would fly himself to the premiere of Top Gun: Maverick, but that was not the case.
