The men who were suspected of killing rapper XXXTentacion were convicted guilty of the musician’s murder.

Prosecutors have asked for life sentences for Michael Boatwright (28), Dedrick Williams (26), and Trayvon Newsome (24 years old) although they are not seeking the death penalty.

More than four years after XXXTentacion, real name Jahseh Onfroy, was shot and killed in front of a motorsports store in Deerfield Beach, Florida, a jury in Florida announced the verdict on Monday. Armed robbery and first-degree murder were the charges brought against Boatwright, Newsome, and Williams. On both of those charges, the jury returned verdicts of guilty. On Thursday, April 6, the three men will get their sentences.

Robert Allen, a fourth suspect who was also accused of being involved in the shooting, pled guilty to a charge of second-degree murder last year and consented to testify against his fellow defendants.

On June 18, 2018, XXXTentacion and a friend had just left the Riva Motorsports dealership when the incident happened. Their car was halted as they attempted to leave the parking area by an SUV driven by the four suspects. The car was subsequently exited by two armed individuals who were later identified as Boatwright and Newsome. Boatwright is charged with firing the first shots that caused XXXTentacion to lose his life as a result of multiple gunshot wounds.
