The Suicide Squad member gets a new mission in John Cena’s Peacemaker trailer

In the new trailer for his self-titled HBO Max program, Peacemaker is no longer with the Suicide Squad, but that doesn’t mean his objective has changed much. This time, John Cena’s character, Peacemaker, teams up with a new cast of misfits to murder targets in the cause of the US government.

Peacemaker’s father (Robert Patrick), a costumed character called Vigilante (Freddie Stroma), and a squad of extremely weird agents portrayed by Danielle Brooks, Steve Agee, Jennifer Holland, and Chukwudi Iwuji are all featured in the new trailer. Peacemaker has a new task with his new crew, which entails murdering men, women, and children to maintain America’s peace, which he isn’t sure how he feels about.

Of course, the trailer is full of bullets, explosions, action, and a bald eagle who looks to be Peacemaker’s new companion, in addition to these moral dilemmas. James Gunn (Suicide Squad, Guardians of the Galaxy) developed and wrote Peacemaker, and the trailer is filled of his usual humor. Gunn also directed five of the eight episodes of the show.

Peacemaker will premiere on HBO Max on January 13, 2022.
