The Runtime of ‘The Batman’ Has Been Revealed, and It’s Nearly 3 Hours

The Batman will be released in theaters in less than two months, and it will be the longest Batman film ever made.

The Batman is set to stretch for two hours and 47 minutes without credits, according to Variety. According to a source close to the production, the film will have a 167-minute length, making it the longest solo Batman film ever. It narrowly beats Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight, which took 165 minutes to complete. Only two major comic book films run longer: Avengers: Endgame (181 minutes) and Zack Snyder’s Justice League (242 minutes).

The Batman, starring Robert Pattinson in the lead role, will be released in theaters on March 4, 2022. It was supposed to be released last year, but was postponed because to the COVID-19 epidemic. Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as the Riddler, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner James Gordon, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, and Colin Farrell as the Penguin round out the cast of the Matt Reeves-directed flick.

The news comes on the heels of the Motion Picture Association’s announcement that the picture would be classified PG-13. “Strong violent and disturbing content, drug content, strong language, and some suggestive material” were cited as reasons for the Batman’s rating. While those expecting for an R-rated Batman picture may be disappointed, Nolan’s Dark Knight flicks have all been classified PG-13. Those films, particularly the second in the trilogy, stretched the rating certificate to its boundaries.
