The Oscars will be hosted by Regina Hall, Wanda Sykes, and Amy Schumer

According to Deadline, Regina Hall, Wanda Sykes, and Amy Schumer will host the Academy Awards in Los Angeles next month.

The announcement will be formally disclosed on Good Morning America on Tuesday. The Oscars last had a host in 2018, when Jimmy Kimmel took the reins. It’s unclear how the hosting responsibilities will be handled this year, but the show will return to the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood after a reduced capacity at Union Station last year.

Variety reports that producer Will Packer spoke with a number of possible hosts before settling on the comedy trio. According to insiders close to the Academy, Mad Men actor Jon Hamm was one of the candidates. None of the hosts have confirmed their participation as of yet, although Schumer teased “big fun news” on Instagram on Sunday.

Tracee Ellis Ross and Leslie Jordan unveiled the Oscar nominees for 2022 last week. With 12 nominations, Netflix’s Power of the Dog took first place, followed by Denis Villeneuve’s Dune, which got an amazing ten nominations. Kenneth Branagh’s Belfast, which got a respectable seven nominations, and Ryusuke Hamaguchi’s Drive My Car, the first Japanese film to be nominated for Best Picture, are two more strong possibilities.

The Oscars last year drew a mixed to negative response from audiences, with just 10.4 million tuning in. The 93rd Academy Awards were the least viewed since Nielsen Media Research began measuring viewership in 1974, according to a report by Deadline.
