‘The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power’ Drops New Teaser

A second teaser trailer for Amazon’s eagerly awaited The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power series has surfaced with less than two months till it premieres on Prime Video.

The new show promises to explore the creation of the first rings of power during Middle Earth’s Second Age, thousands of years before JRR Tolkien’s trilogy of novels and the Peter Jackson film adaptations. Although the pretty lengthy teaser may not focus much on what the tale will entail, it does feature a lot of breathtaking, vast landscapes.

“Beginning in a time of relative peace, the series follows an ensemble cast of characters, both familiar and new, as they confront the long-feared reemergence of evil to Middle-earth,” the plot synopsis reads. The teaser showcases just a few of these locales, including the elf capital of Lindon and the island kingdom of Númenor. We also get a look at the harfoots, who are ancestors to the hobbits at the center of Tolkien’s classic books.

The first season’s eight episodes, which were shot in New Zealand, seem to cover a lot of ground, but it’s clear that Amazon invested a lot of money on it. Approximately $465 million was spent on Season 1 by the company, as The Hollywood Reporter stated the previous year. Even though it hasn’t even appeared on our screens, a second season is about to start filming.

On September 2, LOTR: The Rings of Power makes its Prime debut.
