The title of Neymar’s Netflix documentary, Neymar: The Perfect Chaos, makes sense, because there’s a lot about Neymar that generates strong emotions, as the trailer admits. And they aren’t all positive. For many, the Brazilian star is a hero, but for others, he is a divisive figure.
The core of this schism is his approach on the field, as much as his triumphs. Neymar is a player who gives it his all on the field, which sometimes lead to emotional outbursts that fans – and other players – find difficult to comprehend. Neymar is possibly as well known for his antics as he is for his skill, from feigning injury to get an advantage to losing his calm.
However, the new Netflix documentary aims to alter that, or at the very least offer more context for who Neymar is, so that fans can better understand why he behaves the way he does in certain situations.
The three-part docuseries follows Neymar da Silva Santos Jnior’s ascent to stardom at Santos, his time at FC Barcelona, and his time with the Brazilian National team, as well as his current club, Paris Saint-Germain. It will include interviews with football legends such as David Beckham, Lionel Messi, and Kylian Mbappé, among others, who will analyze Neymar’s skill, character, and, maybe most significantly, his position in sports history.
