This fall, Amazon will release Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, a precursor to J.R.R. Tolkien’s massively successful fantasy saga. The Rings of Power, written by J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay, will depict the narrative of Middle-Second earth’s Age, starring juvenile versions of Galadriel and Elrond from The Lord of the Rings.
The project has been in the works since 2017, but the creative team has kept the details under wraps. The first teaser for the series, which revealed the show’s title and premise, was released in mid-January. The Rings of Power then released 20 fresh character photographs last week, but they were shot from the torso down, so the characters’ real identities remained a mystery. The enthralling planet of Middle-earth and its people have now been unveiled in a first official glimpse from Vanity Fair.
