The trailer, which was shown at Prime Video’s panel at SXSW 2022, teases plenty of gory antics as The Boys strive to take down Vought and The Seven. Perhaps most intriguingly, it looks that Billy (Karl Urban) has acquired his own set of laser eyes?
Aside from that, The Boys is once again mocking some of our pop cultural favorites, this time with a cynical parody of Kendall Jenner’s Pepsi commercial (this time with an A-Train offering a cop a can of “Turbo Rush”) and super boy bands — perhaps with a musical number between Kumiko (Karen Fukuhara) and Frenchie (Tomer Kapon)? There’s also a quick view of what looks to be an American flag dildo, which you may interpret anyway you choose. Essentially, it’s all very much in keeping with The Boys’ brand, which was recently pushed to the limit in the animated offshoot The Boys: Diabolical.
The trailer provides more glimpses of where everyone is post-Stormfront than it does specifics. However, as shown in the teaser, Quaid, Urban, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Dominique McElligott, Laz Alonso, and Chace Crawford will all return for the upcoming season. Jensen Ackles, who was finally released from the limitations of Supernatural to play a foul-mouthed Captain America counterpart, will also be joining the squad (presumably).
Season 3 of The Boys will premiere on Prime Video on June 3 with three episodes. Every Friday, new episodes of the eight-episode season will be released.
