Stephen Curry smashes the NBA’s all-time 3-pointer record

Stephen Curry hit two 3-pointers in the first quarter of Tuesday’s game between the Golden State Warriors and the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden, becoming the NBA’s all-time leader in regular-season 3-pointers.

Curry scored his 2,974th 3-pointer of the regular season with 7:33 left in the first quarter, passing Ray Allen for the most in NBA history.

Allen, who played for the Boston Celtics and the Miami Heat, hit 2,973 3-pointers in 1,300 games. Allen, the 2008 and 2013 NBA champion, announced his retirement in 2016.

Players and commentators have labeled Curry, a three-time NBA champion, the best shooter in NBA history.
