Team USA gymnast Simone Biles will return for the balance beam event at the Summer Olympics after not participating in the Games last week due to mental health reasons.
The four-time Olympic champion withdrew from the all-round final and individual finals on uneven bars, vault and floor as she felt she wasn’t in the mindset to perform at her best.
We are so excited to confirm that you will see two U.S. athletes in the balance beam final tomorrow – Suni Lee AND Simone Biles!! Can’t wait to watch you both!

Biles has been seen in the stands supporting her teammates during Team USA’s gymnastics campaign. She collected a silver medal during the team competition final as the Russia Olympic Committee ousted the defending champions.
On Tuesday, the 24-year-old will hope to match or exceed her performance on the balance beam from Rio 2016, where she picked up a bronze medal.
