Manchester United has agreed to send Anthony Martial on loan to Sevilla for the remainder of the season, subject to a medical.
There is no option to buy and no loan fee, but the striker’s wages will be covered by the Spanish club.
Martial, a 26-year-old forward from France, has been a target for the Spanish club for some time.
He is said to have shown a willingness to take a wage reduction in order for the deal to go through.
Martial, who arrived in 2015 for £36 million from Monaco, has told Ralf Rangnick that he wants a change of scenery.
Even though Martial made his first appearance since interim United manager Rangnick took over when he came on as a substitute in Saturday’s 1-0 win over West Ham, his opinion has not changed.
Martial has made 11 appearances for United this season, scoring once against Everton on October 2.
Sevilla is in contention for the La Liga title and is presently in second place, four points behind leaders Real Madrid, with 16 games remaining.
Martial is one of several United players whose futures are in doubt.
Newcastle United are still interested in signing Jesse Lingard, despite reports that the Magpies have offered a £10 million loan fee for the England international, whose contract expires in the summer.
