‘Scrubs’ producer Eric Weinberg charged with sexual assaults

Weinberg was arrested on 18 criminal counts, including rape, oral copulation, sexual battery, false imprisonment, assault with intent to commit great bodily harm, and forcible penetration by a foreign object, according to the Los Angeles Times. More than two months after his original arrest for alleged sexual assaults dating back to 2012, the charges were reportedly filed on September 28.

Weinberg posted $5 million bond and was freed that evening. The 61-year-old spent years writing for Bill Maher’s Politically Incorrect, a show that is frequently controversial. He also executive produced and wrote the screenplays for Scrubs, Californication, Anger Management, and Men at Work. The last two featured Charlie Sheen and Danny Masterson, who have both been implicated in questionable and/or illegal actions.

Prior accusations against the producer were dropped for want of supporting data. After receiving a fresh assault complaint, the L.A. District Attorney’s office reopened the investigation.

Weinberg is charged with sexually assaulting two women on separate occasions in 2014, according to the indictment. He is accused of approaching the victims in public places and luring them to his house by posing as a photographer. The women claimed that shortly after they arrived at the house, the producer attacked them. Additionally, he is charged with harassing several women sexually in 2017, 2018, and 2019.
