Sadio Mané leaving Liverpool after £35m Bayern Munich deal accepted

Sadio Mane has agreed to join Bayern Munich for £35.1 million after the Reds agreed to sell him.

During face-to-face discussions between the clubs yesterday, Liverpool accepted Bayern’s third offer of £27.5 million up front plus £7.6 million in add-ons, bringing an end to Mane’s brilliant six years at Anfield. Julian Ward, Liverpool’s sporting director, reached an agreement with Hasan Salihamidzic, Bayern Munich’s sporting director, who travelled to Merseyside yesterday to finalize the deal.

The Reds turned down Bayern’s original proposals of £25 million and £30 million, which contained ludicrous add-ons such as winning three Champions Leagues in a row and Mane winning three Ballon d’Ors in a row.

Liverpool demanded £42.5 million for the striker, but the two parties came to an agreement on a price. Mane, who is presently on vacation in Senegal, will now go to Munich for his physical before completing his deal.

Liverpool paid Southampton £34 million for Mane in 2016 and might make a tiny profit on the African superstar. They will believe they have gotten the best offer possible after Mane told them he wanted to depart after their Champions League Final defeat three weeks ago.
