Sadio Mane Is Transforming His Childhood Village in Senegal With Remarkable Features

Sadio Mane of Liverpool has invested nearly £700,000 on new structures for his Senegalese home community of Bambali, including a hospital, school, post office, and gas station.

Mane, who is expected to depart Anfield this summer for Bayern Munich in search of better opportunities, visited Bambali last week and participated in a muddy soccer match with former Premier League players Papiss Cisse and El-Hadji Diouf.

The 30-year-old visited the £455,000 hospital in Senegal that he helped fund the previous year and which serves 34 nearby towns.

The good-hearted forward is rapidly turning Bambali into a town, which already has a population of almost 2,000 people. He has also constructed a £250,000 public secondary school in the community.

In addition to pledging money to establish a post office, he was captured on camera opening a new gas station.

Mane’s generosity, though, goes well beyond just paying for new structures.

The winger has offered a monthly support package of €70 to every household in the area and €400 to the top-performing Bambali High School pupils.

In addition, the school has received laptops, free athletic gear has been distributed to local kids, and 4G internet has been deployed.

The Liverpool star, who successfully completed a physical on Tuesday and will shortly sign a three-year contract at the Allianz Arena, has apparently reached a personal agreement with Bayern.

Around £35.1 million is thought to be the transfer fee.
