Federer stated on social media on Friday that his foundation will donate $500,000 to “to establish access to continued schooling for Ukrainian children.”

He and his wife have two sets of twins themselves.

The 40-year-old Swiss tennis player is tied with Novak Djokovic for second most Grand Slam championships won by a man, behind only Rafael Nadal’s 21.

Andy Murray, a three-time major champion and former No. 1 tennis player, declared on March 8 that he would “be donating my earnings from my prize money for the rest of the year” to humanitarian initiatives in Ukraine to help children.
