Roberto Firmino, a Brazilian forward, will depart Liverpool when his deal expires at the end of the current season.
The 31-year-old has been with the Reds since June 2015, when he transferred there for £29 million from Hoffenheim.
Throughout his tenure at Anfield, Firmino has assisted Liverpool in winning the Champions League, Premier League, FA Cup, EFL Cup, and Club World Cup.
He has made 353 appearances for Liverpool, contributing 70 assists and 107 goals.
Due to recent muscular injuries and the additions of Diogo Jota, Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez, and Cody Gakpo, the Brazilian’s playing time has been restricted.
Firmino, who is well regarded by Reds supporters, was a key member of Liverpool’s legendary attacking trio, which also included Sadio Mane, who left the team to join Bayern Munich last year, and Mohamed Salah.
Together, they enabled Liverpool to win the Premier League in 2019–20, their first English league championship in 30 years.
This season, Firmino has made 26 appearances in all competitions, with four assists and nine goals.
He was not selected by Brazil for the World Cup last year, and when the Premier League returned after the competition, he had an injury that sidelined him for a while. On February 13, he made a comeback as a substitute in the derby victory over Everton.
