Remedy Entertainment, the original creator of Max Payne and Max Payne 2, is working on upgraded versions of the games. Publisher Rockstar Games has stated that the game is under production and will be released on PC, Xbox One S|X, and PlayStation 5 in the near future.
Since its third installment, Max Payne 3, was released in 2012, the renowned Max Payne franchise has been mostly quiet. Despite the fact that it did a good job of carrying on the series’ tradition, the game was not a commercial success because to the generally repetitive gameplay and the aged self-title protagonist.
It’s getting a fresh lease on life, but it won’t be with Max Payne 4. Rockstar has revealed that it will publish a remake of Max Payne and Max Payne 2 made by Remedy Games, the original designers of the games, who approached Rockstar about the remake.
Both games will be marketed as a package and will be released on PC, Xbox One S|X, and PlayStation 5 in the near future. The game’s release date has yet to be announced, but Rockstar has confirmed that it is “in development,” implying that it might be shown off at a future event.
Unfortunately, owing to the game’s demanding Northlight Engine, it is unlikely to be released on previous-generation consoles such as the PS4 and Xbox One. Because Remedy has easy access to the source material for Max Payne and Max Payne 2, development should be quick.
