On Wednesday night, Quavo released the Takeoff tribute “Without You,” coupled with a video showcasing the Migos musician smoking in the studio and listening to his heartbreaking, melodic new song.

“Out in the galaxy, up in the stars/Over the universe, it’s bigger than Mars/See you in heaven, see you heaven/When I see you in heaven, I’ma be with my dog,” the 31-year-old sings of his intergalactically-inclined nephew on the chorus.

At the age of 28, Takeoff was fatally shot on November 1 in Houston. Patrick Xavier Clark, the suspect, was taken into custody at the start of December. A Texas judge rejected Clark’s request last week to have his bond decreased from $1 million to $300,000.

On “Without You,” Quavo reflects, “Remember them days we ain’t have our shit together?/On the Nawfside times was hard, but them days was better.” Referencing their debut album as a duo, October’s Only Built for Infinity Links, he croons, “I wish I had a time machine/Just so you take a ride with me/I miss just how you smile at me/Unc & Phew until infinity.”
