On “Down in Atlanta,” Travis Scott and Pharrell reunite.

Two months after Scott gave it a sneak peek during his “Road to Utopia” residency in Las Vegas, the musicians released their joint record at midnight on Friday. The two have already posted music samples, photos from recording sessions, and behind-the-scenes glimpses of the “Down in Atlanta” video shoot on social media in an effort to tease the release.

The connection between La Flame and P has existed in the past. Scott and Pharrell collaborated on the 2015 Rodeo song “Flying High” with Toro y Moi, and they later collaborated once more on the 2018 Astroworld song “Skeletons” with Tame Impala.

It’s unknown whether “Down In Atlanta” will appear on Skateboard P’s upcoming album Phriends or if it will stand alone. He discussed the endeavor in Rolling Stone’s “Musicians on Musicians” series, confirming that K-pop group BTS will be a part of it.
