On her new single, ‘Bite Me,’ Avril Lavigne returns to her pop-punk roots

Avril Lavigne has returned to the pop-punk scene with her new track “Bite Me.” It’s Lavigne’s first new song since signing with Travis Barker’s DTA Records just a few months ago.

The high-energy track will have listeners tapping their toes in no time. It also has some strong backers on the production side, with Barker, Goldfinger’s John Feldmann, and recent duet collaborator Mod Sun all serving as co-producers.

Both musicians are ecstatic about their collaboration with Barker’s label to support her new songs. “I’ve known Avril for a long time, but I believe I’ve been a fan of hers for much longer!” As a performer, lyricist, and presence, she’s a genuine badass. We had started working together earlier this year and were having so much fun that I knew I had to invite her to join the DTA team. I’m ecstatic that she’s joined the label. “I can’t wait for everybody to experience the amazing music she’s going to release,” adds Barker.
