Nipsey Hussle will receive a posthumous star on Hollywood’s famous Walk of Fame, joining 37 fellow honourees on Thursday.
As reported by Variety via Highsnobiety, the late rapper and entrepreneur will join another late icon in Star Wars actress Carrie Fisher to receive a posthumous star, who died at the age of 60 in 2016.
George Clinton, DJ Khaled, Black Eyed Peas, and Avril Lavigne are also included in the recording category for the Hollywood Walk of Fame class of 2022.
When speaking on the list of celebrities and acts revealed in this latest class, Ellen K, who chairs the Walk of Fame selection panel said, as quoted by Variety via Highsnobiety:
“The Panel did an amazing job choosing these very talented people.
“We can’t wait to see each honoree’s reaction as they realize that they are becoming a part of Hollywood’s history with the unveiling of their star on the world’s most famous walkway!”
Since his tragic death that saw the 33-year-old shot outside his Marathon Clothing store in South Los Angeles on March 31, 2019, Nipsey has been awarded with several posthumous accolades and certifications including several Grammys and the humanitarian award at the 2019 BET Awards.
