On Thursday, Nintendo fans got their best glimpse yet at the newest Super Mario Bros. movie.
In fact, the upcoming animated film’s trailer debuted during a Nintendo Direct event. As it was stated earlier, Chris Pratt, who was in Jurassic World and Guardians of the Galaxy, is the star of the cast and plays Mario. Charlie Day plays Luigi, while Anya Taylor-Joy plays Princess Peach.
The latest film from Illumination and Nintendo was supposed to debut in December, but it will now debut in April.
“Mario and Luigi are two of the most beloved heroes in all of popular culture, and we are honored to have the unique opportunity to work so closely with Shigeru Miyamoto and the widely imaginative team at Nintendo to bring these characters to life in an animated movie, unlike any film Illumination has made to date,” Illumination founder Chris Meledandri said in September 2022 when detailing the extended voice cast, which also includes Seth Rogen and Keegan-Michael Key.
