Nikola Jokic Re-Signs With Denver In Record $264 Mn Deal

The biggest contract deal in league history, at $264 million over five years, will keep Nikola Jokic with the Denver Nuggets, according to reports in US media on Thursday. Jokic is the two-time defending NBA Most Valuable Player.

The Denver Post was one of many media sites covering Serbian star Jokic’s enormous contract as the league’s free agency season began.

The Nuggets selected Jokic in the second round of the 2014 NBA Draft, and when Denver lost to the Golden State Warriors in the playoffs, Jokic said he wasn’t interested in leaving, the decision wasn’t shocking, as the Post highlighted.

If the offer was on the table, he said at the time, “of course I’m going to accept it because I really like the organization, I really like the people who work here.”

He added that he was in a “really good relationship with everybody from owner to equipment manager.”
