Nicki Minaj Drops Trailer for Six-Part Docu-Series, ‘Nicki’

The six-part documentary series Nicki will soon give fans a chance to get to know Nicki Minaj in a way they never have before.

On Thursday, Nicki released the Nicki teaser, which she had previously suggested would be “coming out sooner than [sic] you think” on Instagram.

“I took some time to perfect this very intimate, delicate, electrifying, inspiring body of work,” Minaj wrote on Instagram. “As I decide on a home for this project, I can’t help but reflect on what I’m including in this doc. Some things are so personal, it’s scary. It’s like NOTHING you’ve seen before & I need it to be handled with care. Love you so much. Thank you for the continued support.”

Despite not releasing a studio album since Queen in 2018, Nicki has had some great highs over the past four years, including getting married to Kenneth Petty and giving birth to their first child.

The trailer gives the impression that Nicki had a breakthrough when she left the business and decided to “start loving self.” After releasing the Lil Baby-assisted single “Do We Have a Problem?” in February, Minaj told Zane Lowe that she was “going to start putting out music” and that a new album was “coming very soon, obviously.”
