Nicki Minaj and Lil Baby Reteam for new single ‘Bussin’

“Bussin,” the new single from Nicki Minaj and Lil Baby, is their second collaboration in as many weeks. They debuted the stunning, cinematic “Do We Have a Problem?” video last week.

Over staccato, foreboding production, Minaj and Lil Baby take turns on a verse: “I call Baby, ‘Yo, where that stick at?,’” Minaj asks. Lil Baby responds: “Tell them boys come get his shit back.” “If they act up, we gon’ fix that,” she raps. “My new ni–a ain’t with that chit chat.” “You know, you ain’t gettin’ your bitch back,” Lil Baby quips.

The conclusion of the video for “Do We Have a Problem?” teased “Bussin,” with Minaj delivering a verse from the song from a neon-lit corridor, hinting that her double-crossing agent persona may return in a future video to finish the plot. “Do We Have a Problem?” ended on a cliffhanger, with Minaj fleeing to Cuba with Lil Baby, where she was followed down by her agency partner Joseph Sikora.

Minaj collaborated with Jesy Nelson on the tune and video for “Boyz” last autumn, and the back-to-back songs are the result of their collaboration. Beam Me Up Scotty, the rapper’s 2009 mixtape, was re-released last spring with three new extra tracks.
