Netflix has purchased a documentary about Kanye West for a reported $30 million [€25.2 million] according to Billboard via Hypebeast.
Clarence “Coodie” Simmons and Chike Ozah, who co-directed West’s “Through the Wire” and “Jesus Walks” music videos have been working on the multi-part production.
The documentary which Ye has given the green light to, will feature never-before-seen archival recordings and material collected over the last 21 years. The documentary focuses on Simmons’ relationship with West as well as documenting the artist’s early career, the passing of his mother, fashion ventures and controversial 2020 presidential rally.
The Creative Control and TIME Studios produced documentary is currently untitled but is due to be released on Netflix later this year.
