Money Heist, also known as La Casa De Papel, may be coming to an end, but Netflix has announced a spin-off series titled Berlin.
According to a recent rumor from Deadline, the series would revolve around Berlin, better known as Andrés de Fonollosa, a popular character played by Pedro Alonso in the series. The series is planned to premiere in 2023, with few further details available. In Money Theft, Berlin is the second-in-command of the heist at the Royal Mint of Spain, as well as the heist at the Bank of Spain. Money Heist is coming to an end after five seasons, with the last five episodes of Season 5 Vol. 2 premiering on Netflix on December 3, 2021.
Lex Pina, Sonia Martnez, Jess Colmenar, Esther Martnez Lobato, and Nacho Manubens are executive producers on Money Heist. BH Entertainment and Contents Zium are also working on a 12-episode Korean remake of the blockbuster series for Netflix. Yoo Ji-Tae will play The Professor, Jun Jung-Seo will play Tokyo, and Park Hae-Soo, who starred in the Squid Game, will play Berlin in the South Korean version.
