Nearly 70K people have signed a petition asking Coachella to let Travis Scott perform in 2023

Fans of Travis Scott are signing a petition to have him play at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in 2023. The petition’s objective is to collect 75,000 signatures, and it has about 70,000 as of this writing.

The rapper was supposed to headline the 2022 event, but he was dropped after the Astroworld festival crowd crush, which claimed the lives of ten people. James Connors, a Travis Scott fan, started a Change.org petition requesting that the festival hire him for the 2023 edition or have Kanye bring him when he leads the event later this year.

“We all know Astroworld tragedy wasn’t Travis’ fault,” reads the petition, which was first reported on by TMZ. “Let him get back to performing on the biggest stages!”

Despite the fans’ anticipation, it is unclear when Travis will return to the stage. The catastrophe at the Astroworld festival basically put a stop to his career and collaborations. Scott’s partnership with Dior, for example, was recently postponed “indefinitely.”

Scott is unlikely to collaborate with Live Nation, one of the groups participating in the Astroworld organization, in the near future. Coachella, on the other hand, is organized by Goldenvoice, a subsidiary of Anschutz Entertainment Group. It’s unclear whether they’d be willing to collaborate with him after Astroworld.

Scott was hit with yet another lawsuit earlier this month, this time over uncleared use of an artist’s work, as opposed to the other lawsuits he’s been hit with since the event.
