A thorough examination of Mike Tyson’s rise and fall is promised in the new trailer for Hulu’s upcoming Mike Tyson series.
Trevante Rhodes portrays the legendary boxer who shook up the sports world with his fierce approach to the sport in the clip, which debuted on Wednesday. It shows a young Tyson being pursued by bullies and depicts his early forays towards a life of crime.
Then, we learn about Tyson’s legendary trainer Cus D’Amato, who is portrayed in this film by Harvey Keitel, as he molds his young pupil into one of the most feared fighters in history. In addition, while the series aims to follow Tyson’s quick rise to the top of the boxing world, it also shows his stunning fall from grace following his struggles with addiction and his incarceration due to a rape conviction.
Russell Hornsby, Laura Harrier, Li Eubanks, Olunike Adeliyi, and B.J. Minor round out the ensemble cast with Rhodes. The Tonya Harding biopic I, Tonya was written by Steve Rogers, who is perhaps best known for penning the series itself.
Mike makes his Hulu debut on August 25.
