Megan Thee Stallion inked a first-look agreement with Netflix to create and executive produce her own projects just a few months ago, and the streaming service revealed further details about their collaboration on Thursday.
Netflix’s president of comedy Tracey Pakosta said in a new interview with Deadline that the streaming provider is producing a comedy series partly based on Megan’s life.
“It’s very early stages. She came in and she pitched something loosely based on her life growing up, and we got very excited about it,” Pakosta said. “We think she’s special.”
Pakosta described Megan as a “multi-talented creative force” while announcing Netflix’s first-look arrangement with her in December.
“Megan is a multi-talented creative force who has consistently made her mark on culture,” Pakosta said. “She’s always growing and evolving as an artist, and we’re thrilled that she’s making a home at Netflix for this next chapter in her journey.”
Megan also commented on her excitement about the deal with the streamer and said she’s looking forward to it all.
“I’ve always had a passion for telling creative and entertaining stories, so I’m thrilled about this partnership with Netflix,” Meg said. “Venturing into production is the next step in my journey as an entrepreneur and I can’t wait to bring all my ideas to life and for my Hotties to watch.”
