Marvel’s Daredevil being revived as Disney+ series

According to Variety, Matt Corman and Chris Ord, the co-creators of Covert Affairs, are writing and producing a Daredevil TV series for Disney+. Despite the fact that Marvel Studios has yet to officially announce the show, it has been highly expected following the appearance of Daredevil characters in previous MCU projects. Charlie Cox resumed his role as Daredevil/Matt Murdock in the Netflix series in Spider-Man: No Way Home in 2021, while Vincent D’Onofrio repeated his role as Kingpin/Wilson Fisk in Disney+’s Hawkeye.

The original Daredevil series was canceled by Netflix after three seasons in 2018. According to Variety, the streaming giant’s deal contained a stipulation prohibiting Marvel-Netflix characters from appearing in other studios’ films. Marvel may bring back such characters two years after the Netflix series was terminated under the terms of the deal.

There’s no word on casting yet, although MCU president Kevin Feige recently confirmed that Cox will play Daredevil in future productions.

“If you were to see Daredevil in upcoming things, Charlie Cox, yes, would be the actor playing Daredevil,” Feige said in late 2021. “Where we see that, how we see that, when we see that, remains to be seen.”
