A mural depicting Marcus Rashford on Copson Street in Withington, Manchester was damaged on Sunday night after England’s Euro 2020 final defeat to Italy.
Rashford, who missed a penalty in the shootout at Wembley, has received racially motivated abuse both online and now with the damage to his mural since.
Sky Sports reports that Greater Manchester Police were called in to investigate the damage which according to Manchester Evening News, occurred less than an hour after the match.
England teammates Jadon Sancho and Bukayo Saka, who too missed their spot-kicks against Italy, also received online abuse.
