Bruno Fernandes, a midfielder for Manchester United, says after his team defeated Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup final, “we want more and need more” trophies.

The Brazilian midfielder Casemiro and the Dutch defender Sven Botman both scored in the first half to give the Red Devils their first trophy in six years.

“We have been searching for this moment,” Fernandes told Sky Sports after the 2-0 win at Wembley.

“I am satisfied now because I get my trophy but I want more.”

Portugal international Fernandes added: “It’s the first trophy of the season but we want more and need more. This is not enough for this club.”

The club hadn’t won a trophy since the 2016–17 season, when Jose Mourinho led them to victories in the Europa League and EFL Cup.

This season, Manchester United is still striving for additional local and European titles.

When playing West Ham United at Old Trafford in the fifth round of the FA Cup on Wednesday, Erik ten Hag’s team overcame Barcelona to advance to the last 16 of the Europa League.

With 14 games remaining, Manchester United is eight points behind league-leading Arsenal in third place in the Premier League rankings.
