Manchester United have confirmed the signing of Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund for £73 million.
As reported by Sky Sports, the move had been agreed between the two clubs on July 1st as Sancho completed his medical earlier this month following on from his time with England at Euro 2020.
The 21-year-old has signed a five-year deal with United as the contract includes the option for a further year. The winger spent four seasons with Dortmund after leaving United’s rivals Manchester City as a youth player, scoring 50 goals in 137 appearances, and winning the German Cup in his final season.
There were talks between United and Dortmund last summer regarding Sancho as the German side insisted that he wouldn’t be sold for less than £108m.
With Sancho staying put with the Bundesliga outfit last season, Dortmund dropped their valuation down to £85m as United were able to negotiate a £12m drop in the asking price.
This is his home.
This is where he belongs.
