After making nearly 3,000 visits to the theme park, a Californian man has established the Guinness World Record for the most continuous attendance at Disneyland.
TMZ claims 50-year-old Jeff Reitz has made a record-breaking 2,995 consecutive trips to Disneyland in Anaheim, California. The unheard-of streak, which has now lasted eight years, three months, and 13 days, started for the Guinness record holder in 2012.
“It started as a joke between friends when Disneyland announced they were giving an ‘Extra Disney Day’ when they announced the Leap Day 24-hour event in 2012,” Reitz told Guinness. “We decided to use Disneyland as a positive as we were out of work and had annual passes that had been gifted, so it was a source of free entertainment.”
“You learn a lot during the time it takes to achieve such a record, like time management and finances in order to be able to have a life and do more than just one thing,” Reitz shared. “Even to hold a full-time job required me to keep close tabs on the park calendar along with my own to be sure I could make it into Disneyland before it closed when they had special events.”
Reitz’s streak was only broken in March 2020, following Jeff’s 2,995th consecutive visit, when COVID-19 forced the closure of Disneyland.
