Mahek Bukhari, a 22-year-old TikTok celebrity, and her 45-year-old mother have been charged with murder after reportedly chasing down and running two men off the road, resulting in a deadly crash.

According to the BBC, Bukhari, her mother Ansreen Bukhari, and Natasha Akhtar, 21, were detained in connection with the killings of Saqib Hussain and Mohammed Hashim Ijazuddin, all 21 years old. The incident occurred in the early hours of February 11, 2022, just outside of the A46’s Six Hills junction in Leicestershire, and the three ladies were accused of driving their automobile off the road. Cousins Hussain and Ijazuddin were pronounced deceased at the site of the accident.

Bukhari, who is most known for her TikTok account, which has over 120k followers, appeared in court on Wednesday and admitted the seriousness of the allegations she faces. According to authorities, the collision involved three automobiles, all of which were moving at high speeds.

Two other males, Raees Jamal, 21, and Rekan Karwan, 28, were arrested in connection with the collision, but it is unclear how they were involved. Bukhari said last year that she had “conflict” with other influencers, according to the right-wing British newspaper the Daily Mail. Ijazuddin’s father, Sikander Hayat, claims that his son consented to transport Hussain to visit a friend on the night of the collision. He went on to say that it’s unclear who they’ll meet, and that the families are “waiting for the police to provide us with a thorough update.”

The trial date has been set for September 26, but another hearing will be held on March 18 to prepare for it.
